Skills Upgrade

A Skills Upgrade is a class or short course that can help you to get employed, or help you to stay employed.

Opportunities for Skills Upgrades include, but are not limited to: flagging certifications, computer training, and much more! For more information, please contact your UT&E Workforce Specialist at 541-672-7761.

Work Experience

Work Experience is designed to help workers enter or re-enter the job market. Training is generally in the public sector. For more information, ask a UT&E representative. Work Experience

On-the-Job Training

On-the-Job Training (OJT) is usually in the private sector. For more information, just ask a UT&E representative. On-the-Job Training


Getting your GED will open lots of doors!


No matter how long itís been since high school, we can provide you with the local options available to help you to obtain your GED.
Itís never too late to improve your chances of getting a better job. Even if learning was hard for you in school, todays teaching methods offer different options.

Even if you hated high school, youíll be surprised at how enjoyable it is to get your General Education Diploma.

Funding Availability

All training opportunities are contingent upon current funding availability and/or requirements.

Truck Driver Training

Umpqua Training & Employment recognizes the immediate need and is offering assistance for Long Haul Truck Driver Training. Four-week training sessions are currently being offered.  

Attention Employers

UT&E has funds available to help offset the cost of training your new hires. UT&E may reimburse your company up to 50% of the hourly wage for the duration of the training period. For more information contact Kelsey at 541-580-0944
