A Skills Upgrade is a class or short course that can help you to get employed,
or help you to stay employed.
Skills UpgradeOpportunities for Skills Upgrades include, but are not limited to: flagging certifications, computer training, and much more! For more information, please contact your UT&E Workforce Specialist at 541-672-7761.

Work Experience

Work Experience is designed to help workers enter or re-enter the job market. Training is generally in the public sector. For more information, ask a UT&E representative.

GED

Getting your GED will open lots of doors!
GEDNo matter how long it’s been since high school, we make it easy to get your GED.
It’s never too late to improve your chances of getting a better job. Even if learning was hard for you in school, methods have changed so much that you’ll be able to move at your own pace and get as much or as little help as you need.

Even if you hated high school, you’ll be surprised at how enjoyable it is to get your basic certificate.
There’s not only no peer pressure in our GED classes, but most people find that we really do make it fun. And you’ll have your GED a lot sooner than you may think!

When a job you want requires special skills, we can help you get them.
Often at no cost to you!
Job-Specific TrainingMost classes are offered in partnership with Umpqua Community College.
This is dependent on available funding and you do have to qualify.

Truck Driver Training
Umpqua Training & Employment recognizes that immediate need and is offering assistance for Truck Driver training. Three four-week training sessions will be offered beginning in January. Contact Mary at UT&E at 541-677-1622 for more information or come into the office at 760 NW Hill Avenue…behind Garden Valley Shopping Center.
Attention Employers
